The legal protection against sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination in Europe is still incomplete and states are slow to expand that protection. In the meantime homophobia/lesbophobia/ transphobia seems to be growing. This group discusses strategies for increasing social acceptance and visibility of LGBTI persons and safeguarding their rights.

Position Paper from ILGA-Europe
ILGA-Europe welcomes the invitation by the European Feminist Forum to contribute to the discussion of matters of interest to both feminists and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. And of course it is possible to be both feminist and lgb or t!! To make sense of the questions for discussion below, I start by outlining the mission, vision and strategic objectives of ILGA-Europe. Then I outline a number of areas of common focus and finally move to the questions which I hope will stimulate some discussion!
