Migrant women contribute to European economies, values and social structures, but seldom have full access to democratic spaces. This Affinity Group crosses cultural barriers to develop a European migrant women’s agenda.
We are a network of Philippine women in Europe link that seeks to forge unity towards empowerment. Through the EFF, Babaylan hopes to develop a Migrant Feminist Agenda from the perspective of migrant women together with our European feminist sisters. Joining the EFF is an opportunity for Babaylan to meet women of diverse background and to have our voices heard on issues and concerns affecting black, refugee and migrant women in Europe.
The Danish Migrant Women’s Network aims to impact the European agenda through the radical act of putting migrant and ethnic minority women’s voices out into the public space. By speaking with women like us and engaging them in dialog and debate we will be establishing a political agenda made by and for us leading up to Poland 2008!
The European Amazigh Women Foundation is the first feminist movement of Amazigh women who are living in Europe. EAWF has Affinity groups of women who are participating in the EFF in The Netherlands, France, UK, Spain and Germany. We have a strong network who can inform us about the female Amazigh situation in North-Africa and Europe and we are alos supported by many Amazigh men.
We articulate the experience of migration through personal testimonies. We believe that migration is our literary, cultural, culinary, musical background travelling with us and is constantly exposed to mixtures and hybridations. In this project we intend to reflect the different aspects, notions and phenomena related to migration and the degree of involvement of women in it.
